Jimmie started his racing career on a 50cc motorcycle at the age of five. Jimmie competed in his first NASCAR Busch Series race in 1998 and NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race in 2001. In his 2002 rookie campaign, Jimmie won three times and was the first rookie to lead the point standings.
